story:
„At the beggining there was… Hi!“

And a little bit later? What we see? Kind of video without video, live clip, moving pic. Episode of imaginary tv-series, of those modern ones. But all is happening on stage, real one, you can touch it. Not on the screen (even if the screen is present on the stage, huh). Freedom which is given to the authors of this spectacle grows because of improvised, intimate expressions, dreams, thoughts going on in real time. It reaches spectators with it’s vibrations, sucking them into pleasant vertigo, intellect is in a massage-centre, trebles hiss via nostrils, bass is hitting the muscles all over summoned bodies. The story is maybe psychodelic, for sure mythologies are in working here. Bit fantasy, slightly drama, quite comedy. Sunken in our post-internet times we are living in. Pretty and deeply.

Two main heroines, with beautifull names of Fitz and Carraldo make simple discovery - it is not so difficult to start the real travel into abyss of the universe even if you are living on a total and very flat desert. You only need to know where this bottle with instructions hidden within floats, on which spot of the vast ocean of possibilities. And which button you need to hit afterwards. You only need to discover the fire. Later, during this genuine trip they meet various personas, creatures and adventures. Sounds like a fairy-tale? Once upon a time.

We are interested in all matters of the space, science-fiction, science (Stephen Hawking RIP), old rituals making people live more comfortable ways during the history of humankind, or earlier, or later. We praise the influences of a very daily life, worries, sorrows, happy moments, desires, highs and lows. It is inspirational and much needed. We walk through known and unknown world in a search of colors, differencies and common parts, mutual friends. From exotic, sensual carnival to complicated life of/in social-media.

The movement is very important, dance is superimportant, we believe that with one small gesture it is possible to say more than with many words. We can shift the meanings quickly, they change themselves automatically depending on the place of the universe we show them to those who may concern. Archetypes, primary instincts, cultural filters. Music here is the web connecting all the elements, providing narration, building story, weaving stage actions with sounds. Techno and ethno together. Alive. Electronic mutant spiders marching together with organic strings trembling. Field recordings and a smell of the resin on wooden instruments, atomic sound-designs drawn into a coat of light. Tropical breeze.

Uran Uran! We scream! This open slogan title, energetic one! Let’s fly as far as possible with double speed. We touch also the history of so called pop-culture with those two funny words, wink, sure. Multilayered and complication of the description connects things like physics, metaphysics, mathematics, art, chemistry, all the ways people were always trying to measure the huge world, trying, always trying. Our civilisation and all other known or forgotten ones. But the most interesting of the all things is the Nature. It surrounds us, giving birth to us and eats us. We will not be here anymore, but something will be still present here. What it will be? Would be awesome to know!

This text about some dancing and some music might be to heavy for some readers or some folks who just want to watch something colorful in the theatre. But the truth is, that our show is very simple and pleasant, multicolor thrills are guaranteed. With myriads of inspirations we thought of in the months of preparations (whole life of preparing even before?) we made something nice and easy. All the members of the audience (this is cool to think about you as a members of the whole thing!) can think whatever they like, choose the story they prefere, caress hair of happenings jumping before their eyes, like alien fleas. There is only one condition - don’t be afraid. Possible?

The authors of the Uran Uran show are the supergroup consisting of artists well known themselves in their particular branches. Kasia Kulmińska and Paulina Jaksim are working in the legendary Polish Dance Theatre from Poznań, as Hashimotowiksa they vigor up numerous techno parties around. Piotr Steczek works in Aukso, one of the most famous polish chamber orchestras and as the freelance arranger and producer, with string arrangements done for such luminairies as Aphex Twin or Prefuse 73 (yes, really). Zuza Makles, Malwina Tkaczyk and Zuzanna Janczak work on daily basis in fine Aquila Quartet, digging repertoire from classical to pop. Krystian Szymczak is young fashion designer preparing costumes for various theatres. Jan Dybała is the longtime partner of Nowa Muzyka, designing most of stuff, he is also co-creator of great The Office of Sound/Biuro Dźwięku Katowice.
Wojciech Kucharczyk, even if trained as a visual artist quickly became one of the pioneers of polish so called new electronic and Mik Musik label he founded in mid-nineties of XX century is among one of the most acclaimed and still fresh after all these years. He is also activist and animator of cultural life.
Marcin Liber is one of the most recognised theatre directors, one of the creators of polish „critical theatre“, with dozens of realised spectacles and plays in various venues since early nineties, underground and institutional, official and independent.

The premiere show of Uran Uran took place during Tauron Nowa Muzyka Festival Katowice, as the very fresh achievement, trying to shift things into new directions and dimensions. And now we would like to continue our crazy travel, because we think it is worthwile to do so. We are wiser now. Experienced. Funnier. Entertainers.

„WE ARE CELEBRATING THE WORLD, ENJOYING THE TIME. ENERGY COMES FROM THE KNOWLEDGE, TELLING THAT ALL OF IT IT’S ONLY HUGE, BIZZARE CARNIVAL. against all odds.“

„NA POCZĄTKU BYŁO… CZEŚĆ!“

Wideo bez wideo. Wczoraj, jutro i pojutrze.

Kasia Kulmińska i Paulina Jaksim są tancerkami legendarnego Polskiego Teatru Tańca w Poznaniu, Piotr Steczek gra w orkiestrze Aukso, jednym z najbardziej cenionych zespołów kameralnych.

„CELEBRUEMY WSZECHŚWIAT, ŚWIĘTUJEMY CZAS, ENERGII DODAJE NAM ŚWIADOMOŚĆ, ŻE TO WSZYSTKO TO JEDEN WIELKI, DZIWNY KARNAWAŁ, mimo wszystko.“
