It has been two years since the release of the first warmly welcomed album by Wilhelm Bras. In this period his unusual ideas about electronic music have been constantly evolving, maturing and gaining even more distinct character. This was happening during multiple live performances, in clubs, at the festivals and small gatherings, in Poland and abroad, as well as in studio work.

Visionaries & Vagabonds is a demanding album, complex and intensive, not only because of its raw and radical timbres, but also thanks to multi-layered polyrhythms and (dis)harmonies. One can find here tracks suitable for more progressive club audience among others, barely touching such aesthetic, including instead idioms of several other genres.

The music is multi-faceted and well-seasoned, tested with the audience even at the dance floor. Yet in the studio it has been greatly ehnanced and precisely packed with details along elaborate structures. The album is meant to be explored bit by bit, as it is almost impossible to grasp in one take. It may also seem brutal or hermetic, but inspected closely reveals numerous nuances and subtleties, convoluted narratives and dramas.

Eclectic coexistence of experimental music and funk, power electronics and house, electric sonorism, noise and techno make it all even more engaging. Everything is combined in a glittering, highly dynamic sound covering broad scope of tonalities and frequencies.
 All sounds are of analogue origin, coming from the synthesizers built by Wilhelm Bras himself.

Od wydania pierwszej, ciepło przyjętej płyty Wilhelma Brasa minęły dwa lata. W tym czasie jego niecodzienny dosyć pomysł na muzykę elektroniczną stale ewoluował, nabierał wyrazu, odwagi i dojrzałości. Działo się to podczas wielu koncertów o różnym charakterze, tych klubowych, jak i bardziej kameralnych, w trakcie dużych festiwali i małych spotkań, w Polsce i zagranicą, a na koniec w ramach pracy w studio.  

 Visionaries & Vagabonds jest płytą wymagającą, intensywną i złożoną z uwagi na same brzmienia, często radykalne i surowe, jak też wielowarstwowe polirytmie i rozbudowane (dys)harmonie. Znajdują się na niej zarówno utwory, które dla bardziej progresywnej publiczności mają szanse zaistnieć tanecznie, jak i takie ledwo ocierające się o tę estetykę, przemycające w zamian idiomy szeregu innych gatunków.

Otrzymujemy więc zróżnicowaną muzykę, poddaną próbie czasu i okrzepłą w kontaktach z publicznością. W wersji studyjnej nastąpiło jednak znaczne zagęszczenie tkanki muzycznej, doprecyzowanie jej struktury i detali. Album przeznaczony jest to stopniowego odkrywania podczas kolejnych przesłuchań, prawie niemożliwe jest pełne przyswojenie jego treści za pierwszym razem. Początkowo może wydawać się też hermetyczny i brutalny dla ucha, jednak po bliższej analizie na jaw wychodzą liczne niuanse i subtelności, zawiłe narracje i dramaturgie.  

Eklektycznie mieszają się tu więc muzyka eksperymentalna z funkiem, power electronics i house, elektryczny sonoryzm, noise i techno. A wszystko to połączone skrzącym brzmieniem o dużej dynamice, rozpiętości tonalnej i szerokiej charakterystyce częstotliwościowej.

Pierwotnym źródłem wszystkich dźwięków na płycie są analogowe syntezatory własnoręcznie zbudowane przez Wilhema Brasa.
